Trimen's false acraea butterfly
This strikingly handsome butterfly imitates (in colour and flight) butterflies of the genus Acraea, which are unpalatable to predators. Trimen's false acraea occurs in wet forest areas where it glides about gracefully and comes to rest on the tops of the tallest trees. It often settles on damp patches on the ground to suck moisture from the mud. The sexes are similar but the female is usually a little larger than the male.
