Vervet monkey
With its greyish coat, black face in a frame of white hair and bright, beady eyes, the vervet monkey (cercopithecus aethiops) has the typical impish appearance associated with moneys. It is a very adaptable species that lives in a wide variety of habitats, preferring riverine vegetation or woodlands near water. Vervet monkeys are diurnal and feed on fruit, berries, leaves, ,shoots, roos and bulbs, but they also eat insects, bids' egggs and nestlings. Troops of monkeys often raid crops and gardens and can become a pest.
